The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani is the implementing body of the Project “Consolidation and Restoration of the Western Tower at the Castle of Servia,” a project co-financed by Greece and the European Union/European Regional Development Fund through the Operational Program “Western Macedonia” of the NSRF 2014- 2020.
The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani is subordinate to the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture and operates as a Regional Service at the level of a Directorate. It has territorial jurisdiction over the Regional Unit of Kozani, and its headquarters are in Aiani, Kozani. The Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani exercises its responsibilities locally within the boundaries of the Regional Unit of Kozani, cooperating with the respective Directorates of the Central Service and the other Services of the Ministry of Culture and runs projects, which are included in the annual Action Programs, as approved by the Minister, after the opinion of regional or central archaeological councils. The staff of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani participates in the work described above as well as in the conduct of systematic and rescue excavations or other archaeological works and research, in the study and organization of permanent and temporary exhibitions, in the formation and operation of archaeological sites, in the organization, operation, and promotion of the museums, as well as the educational programs implemented in them or the monuments and archaeological sites in the area of its responsibility.

The head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani, Dr. Archaeologist Areti Chondrogianni-Metoki, was responsible for the implementation of the project, while the project supervision team consisted of Georgia Kavouridou (Architect), Georgios Tentonis (Civil Engineer) and Archaeologists Sonia Koutsianou and Theocharis Tsampouras.
The general editor of the website was Dr. Archaeologist Theocharis Tsampouras, who also wrote its texts. Areti Hondrogianni-Metoki, Georgia Kavouridou, and Sonia Koutsianou contributed with additional texts. Topographical Engineer Sofia Vlachopoulou edited topographical and floor plans with the collaboration of the designer, Stelios Vavliaras. New photos were taken by Theoharis Tsampouras, while Georgia Kavouridou took the aerial photos and videos. The older photos and drawings were taken from the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani archive.

The Department of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Antiquities of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani is located in the Archaeological Museum of Aiani, where the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kozani is based. The Department is open daily and serves the public from 7:30 to 15:30.
